µ Eleven killed in Kentucky traffic crash, including members of the Esh family from Burkesville, KY. Interview with bishop Leroy Kauffman. Detailed news article (three pages), with many photographs of accident scene and Burkesville church. Esh family singing. The funeral for Ashlie Kramer in Franklin, KY (Beachy church). The funeral for the Eshes had about 3,000 attendees. An interview with the family of the driver of the truck. The Burkesville church began as a New Order settlement, having come from Yanceyville, NC. Within several years, they allowed cars and became Amish Mennonite, but never affiliated with an Amish Mennonite body, though they work closest with the Maranatha Amish Mennonites. All in all, the Amish Mennonite community mourns the tragedy and loss of members of the John Esh family, Joel Gingrich, Ashlie Kramer, and Kenneth Laymon, but rejoices and is refreshed by the sovereignty of God. To listen to the funeral, dial 712-432-8774, enter PIN 37437, then ID 3365 (the recording falls silent for five minutes, press “6” to fast forward two minutes). To listen to Esh family singing, dial 712-432-3959, pin 374, ID 1274, 1561, 1562, or 1563.
